Mysterious

September 20, 2010 by rock95seven

Can anyone tell me why I have had so much trouble getting into Part15.us?? I was beginning to think maybe i offended some of our members here and was possibly banned.

For a couple weeks i have been getting the CloudFlare security page instead of Part15.us. Is there something on my computer that threw up a red flag on the servers??

Just wondering.

Hello Everyone,

Hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Labor Day.

I have been playing around with Audacity and some free sound elements from various websites. I linked a sample below.

And a bigger rush is broadcasting over the internet to Brazil !

Today for few hours I was streaming to a friends server in Brazil and heard all over that beautiful country. Great fun!

Testing again on 800 khz

August 8, 2010 by rock95seven

I have started testing on 800 khz using the Talking House am transmitter.

I have started testing on 800 khz using the Talking House am transmitter.

One serious problem with my particular model (TH 2) is the hum and low modulation. I am sure after spending some time digging around here on Part15.us a solution will be found to over-come these two problems.

The hum is probably the wall wart supplied with the TH and can be fixed by using a different power supply. Perhaps a regulated power supply.

Fixing the low modulation is my main concern and after tinkering with a few circuits I have come to the conclusion that a matching transformer is the only way to go. So far i have been experimenting with a graphic equalizer made by Teac. This has helped with controlling the tinny audio by limiting the highs and increasing the bass.
It is a shame that the digital audio storage chip has better modulation than the line input jack. The input jack sounds like about 50% modulation while the digital audio chip seems to transmit at or close to 80% modulation.

Hard to tell without a modulation meter but that is a educated guess none the less. So anyway, thats what i am up to these days.

Hope everyone is doing great.

p.s. testing may not be restricted to 800 khz but right now it seems there is less hum there.

Happy 4 th of July

July 4, 2010 by rock95seven

I want to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July!

I want to wish everyone a happy and safe 4th of July!
We are going to have a big supper of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans and watermelon. The fireworks are at the fairgrounds here and since we live so close we don’t even have to leave our house or worry about fighting traffic.

Just pull up a chair on the front porch, grab a radio and a cold beverage and enjoy the show!

Take Care my friends and remember the true meaning of Independence Day. Until next time, keep on rockin’

TV Channels 5-6 up for consideration

June 29, 2010 by rock95seven

TV Channels 5 – 6 are up for consideration for use for low power community broadcasting. Very interesting. There isn’t a final decision yet but this is promising news and could offer part 15 fm operators a spot on the fm dial to escape the congestion found on the fm dial between 88 to 108 mhz.

Keep your fingers crossed.
Here is the story via Radio Survivor.

FCC Commissioner Clyburn Suggests Channels 5 & 6 for Radio
