Just received this new Sony I purchased on Amazon model ICF-801. This was made for the Japanese market only and isn't made in China(made in Japan). This is like the portables they made in the 70s....Not cheaply made, great reception and very nice sounding. Your stations will sound good on this. All the reviews on Amazon are true...nothing bad said about this radio and it's everything I read on the reviews.
Can work on 3 C batteries with 200Hrs battery life. Recomended for anyone looking for a good portable made like they used to be.
Oh yes, the FM band is from 76- 108 mhz. All that space on the dial we can't use!
A better than average radio for reception, sound and durability.

Actually the Japanese FM Band is from 76 to 90 mHz.
I bet the AM BCB is really good!
Brooce, WLP, Etc.
The AM band on that radio stops at 1600 kHz.
And if you see that John guy from WDCX have him stop by my office... according to my TECSUN PL-310 Manual, the FM band in Japan spans from 76-108 MHz. Ask him if he thinks TECSUN doesn't know?
Oh, and by the way, I guess it's a little bit off topic, but the FM band in Russia is 64-108 MHz.
One more thing... I just noticed this... the TECSUN booklet says the U.S. FM band is 87-108 MHz. Well good. I thought it was. There are a few people around here that need to be informed. Heck. They are dogmatic. They'll deny it even in the face of evidence. Don't bother telling them.
The AM goes to the older 1600 KLZ but that's not important to me. The AM fidelity on this radio is better too....seems to be a little wider IF bandwidth.

JM said: "79-90 mHz = FM 90-108 = Analog TV"
