i have a 3db and 20db, make sure your attenuator is capable of handling whatever input tpo you are going to feed it with a little buffer to spare. ie: if you are going to feed 1 to 1.5 Watts then a 2 watt handling would be sufficient. never run it at it's maximum handling power it will fail quicker like that. i run my harris at mW's with an antennuator. both the attenuator and output transistors will likely outlive the entire station because i am not stressing them to their limits.

with RDS is the same thing as with stereo. it shortens your receivable range due to increased SNR from the subcarrier.
