right now I'm on vacationand don't have my computer with me My computer with me. I won't be back till after the 5th.
The next regular TeamSpeak meeting of The ALPB will be January 16th at 8:00 pm EST (0100 UTC Sunday.)
Called away for an emergency (job related) the last meeting went on as specified in our Charter Document. Carl Blare of KDX Worldround Radio took the chair and ran with it. I was able to check in momentarily from my SmartPhone while on a break and then later in the evening before the meeting after the meeting ended. Thanks Carl!
The business meetings have been short as we're all caught up. But it's the meeting after the meeting we're all there for, lots of interesting discussions.
If you'd like to join in just let us know. Read over the Charter Document found at TheALPB.com. If you're OK with it then download and install TeamSpeak Client 3 and let me know. I provide the server address and password and you'll be ready to go.
Click on the "CONTACT" button at TheALPB.com and let me know!

WCFI-LP will broadcast its first ever LIVE from the WCFI-LP studio program "The Italian Connection" on Sunday, May 1st from 12 to 2 pm Eastern Time.
This Italian group has been producing a show since the early 70's, running on local non-commercial stations such as WZIP and WAPS. They recently lost their time slot at 91.3 The Summit and heard about our LPFM.
The show connects with the Italian communities throughout Summit County providing Italian music, news, current events and audience call-ins.
The music selections include current popular Italian recording artists, Italian-American artists, Pop, Popera and Oldies too.
The show will be bi-lingual so I won't know when to hit the "dump" button but these guys have plenty of terrestrial radio experience so I'll have to trust their judgement.
You can listen at WCFI-LP
NICE
Everything went well.
The fellow running the show only had a couple slip-ups when he forgot to kill the monitor before opening his mics. I'll have to figure out how to fix that. I'm not using a broadcast board with "tally" output so I'll have to get creative.
I'd say he did a fine job for having never using our studio before.
They had some call-ins from around town and IM's from Florida and Itally so we had people listening.
Next Sunday will be another adventure...
WCFI-LP is broadcasting LIVE tonight, 6:30 to 11:00 PM from the IROK Concert Series.
The opener is The Flyin' Jays, very popular 3 piece band around the Lake Erie scene.
Headliner for the evening is The Spazmatics, a 90's rock band.
What's this have to do with Part 15 broadcasting someone will say? Well, I'm also a Part 15 broadcaster and the techniques used here could very easily fit the budget of any Part 15 operation.
I'm using off the shelf consumer equipment; Behringer XENYX 1204USB mixer, Behringer UCA202 external USB sound card, Behringer MicroAMP HA400 headset distribution amp, an HP laptop and a few inexpensive dynamic and condersor microphones.
The STL is over the internet using TeamSpeak Client. Works great and it accessing the internet using a WIFI hotspot on Verizon.
You Can Do It Too!
Listen in at WCFI-LP LIVE.
Tonight I'm doing a live remote broadcast of the Cuyahoga Falls High School football game.
Instead of dragging all my stuff to the game I'm having the school dial me up at the studio.
The school has a JKAudio live remote mixer which has a phone line interface. Audio is phone line quality so the band show won't sound great but hey, it works.
If you'd like to listen in visit WCFI-LP LIVE
This has Part 15 interest as I'm using mostly consumer grade equipment at my studio with a home brew phone patch.
Here I am again doing a live remote for the high school football game.
Wouldn't you know when I got to the studio the Win 10 box decided it had to do an update. Sweat beads form on the head wondering if it will complete before air time.
Who boy, restart with only 15 minutes to air. Great, get all the programming setup again, ready to go. Yes.
5 minutes to air-gaaaahhhhhh. The Win10 box at the transmitter site just said "Save your work. Your computer will restart to install updates." Oh man...
Game program starts; ID, news, weather, promo, Coaches show and now to the football feed. 2 minutes in-blip-off line.
Well, nothing to do but hope everything comes back quickly.
Took less than two minutes to reboot but when these Win10 boxes reboot the sound card setup gets hosed up. Inputs don't go where they should. Outputs aren't where they need to be. Quick, think, reroute, switch to line in, bypass stereo mix.
There, at least the audio is going to air. Live radio is so much fun.
I think I need more Tumms...
Windows 10 and radio sure don't mix very well. Had a similar thing happened to me and I had to go back to the older build of Windows 10.

This will solve your mic problems! Perfect for the Mackie 1402!
