Doing some radio station searching today and I discovered that WKRS 1220 in Waukegan, IL is now a spanish ESPN outlet. Back in the day this station would have don Tim proud as they played Polka music because of the signficant Polish and Germanic populations in that area. It and then WZBN 1500 in nearby Zion were truly "local" AM radio stations that served the community.
