It doesn't appear to have any type acceptance...   So it's not exactly legal, right?

Just making sure.   I did do a search here and didn't find that addressed straightforward.

Thanks for any good input.

All I know about this is what I read on their website. From reading this, here are my observations:

1. The unit is not FCC Certified so it is not legal for them to sell this in the United States but it may or may not be legal to use.

2. They seem confused about Part 15.219 in that they state that the power OUTPUT is 100 mW PEP which is not what the rules specify. The rules specify the INPUT power to the final stage must be 100 mW maximum and this is not a PEP value.

3. The specified load is 50 ohms but if the unit is used with a non 50 ohm antenna load then the power specification may not be what is stated. The input power to the final stage may well be affected by the load impedance and could exceed what is allowed.

4. Considering the web site includes this disclaimer "Disclaimer: Although this unit meets FCC Part 15 requirements for AM transmitters, this does not mean it has been FCC certified." with the statement referenced in point 2 above it is questionable if they know that it actually meets the FCC requirements.

Perhaps you could contact the manufacturer with this information and ask for their response.

Neil
