The next ALPB TeamSpeak meeting will be May 3rd at 7 pm EDST. If you are not aware, there is a new server address and password since TeamSpeak was restored. Please contact [email protected] for info.
Seems as though the general topic of discussion for this next meeting will revolve around recent FCC actions.
Although it is not the intent of the ALPB to act on regulatory issues, discussion will help to aire the feelings of the membership. We need to restore a sense of calm and sort out what has transpired. These recent actions have and may continue to have a negative impact if left to fester in darkness. We can not afford to have the creative works of any license free, low power broadcaster squelched by fear.
Lightning can strike anywhere, anytime. But, I do not live in fear that I may one day be struck. I take care not to wear a metal beanie hat on the golf course in the rain but my regular day to day routine is devoid of worry about what could happen.
Attached is a PDF regarding what to expect of an FCC inspection.
Very happy to see that the ALPB intends to open the floor for discussion of recent events. It was my intention to raise these issues at the next meeting, and now it's set.
These tests, call them lightning strikes, of our resolve as small broadcasters do indeed have a negative aspect and can be discouraging. But I also notice that the human spirit is very resiliant and people tend to recover from setbacks by finding alternate ways of solving problems.
Part 15 radio is an important field of creative liberty, and it will survive any kicks made against it.
See you there.

Last night's Meeting of the ALPB went very well. More news about the Meeting will arrive as results pour in.
damn i missed the meeting. i would have liked to join in on that particular meeting considering it involved discussion of fcc inspections.
there is more to mighty's bust than we were apparently told and his bust has the taint of a pirate operation and possible parental involvement.
gerry i even know less of his situation than mighty's.
i, like everyone else, am patiently waiting on the conclusion of the radio systems investigation which we are heading into week three of.
I assure you, all the info regarding me is out there and was never hidden.
I seriously wish people would STOP saying theres more to it, theres not.
The very good meeting on the subjects of the two inspections will be released as a 2-Part Low Power Hour Special as soon as I have the permisson of one new member to broadcast his voice.
As a courtesy, we check to be sure that Members of ALPB are cool with having their voices broadcast. If they wish, we will snip out their part.
Speaking from behind the scenes.
