In an adjoining forum thread we have talked extensively about emergency radios, and a moment ago I heard Rita Foley on AP Radio News headlining that "across America millions of people are wrestling with mother nature" which brought to my mind what I think is a new radio format idea: Imagine a radio station dedicated to reporting on worldwide emergencies and continually updating with the latest developments in every crisis, and a station that actually became an emergency station if its own locality comes under catastrophic conditions, equipped of course with UPS power-backup and natural gas electricity generator. Yes, there are power generators that can connect to natural gas pipes which are already run to the average building therefore not introducing any extra bio-hazard. This might be an idea for full power licensed stations to think about as we move into "the Emergency Age".
