How the time will fly by. I’ve been so busy at work that I just realized I did not post advance notice for the ALPB meeting, although it is found on the ALPB website calendar page.

That being said, there will be a meeting tomorrow night 1 February 2013 at the new time of 7pm EST as decided at the last meeting.

Notice has gone out regarding new additions to our ALPB website. There is now a FORUM page with LIVE CHAT. The link will be found on the left side of the pages at the bottom of the navigation links.

Anyone can visit and view posts but you must register to post comments.

A new Member Content page is in the works for Artisan Radio. David is working on converting audio recordings to digital files to place on his Content page. As soon as he advises as to image files and audio links, the page will go up.

I have not had much time to work on a mirror site although all the page files have been uploaded.

I have been doing some work on the ALPB website. So as not to interrupt anyone that may be accessing the website, I have set up a mirror website. It should be transparent to the end user. The mirror site has been active for a little while now.

Tonight I had time to work on the site hosted at Part15 and found I could not access the server. I’m not sure if this is a temporary situation but I’m glad I set up the mirror site.

The next ALPB TeamSpeak meeting will be Friday January 18, 2013 at 2400 GMT (6:00 pm EST.)

There has been some talk about changing the meeting time back to 7:00 pm EST. An email went out to all members requesting their thoughts on this. There has not been enough feedback to alter the meeting time so for now we’ll keep it as it is.

Topics will be acceptance of the Charter document with the latest changes, ALPB website hosted on Part15.us servers and domain name search.

We considered using an FTP for storage and retrieval of programming content. Latest discussions favor making the process an integral part of the website. This will mitigate the problem of controlling access.

Lefty has been researching domain names and may have a report on that.

Jon Paul has offered to provide space on the Part15.us host server for the ALPB website. Details will be discussed.

Well, I was just informed that an offer we made for a house was accepted.

My wife owns two horses. The cost to board the horses has climbed to the point that it is another house payment.

My wife owns two horses. The cost to board the horses has climbed to the point that it is another house payment.

So, we decided (reluctantly) to move out where we can keep the horses at home. I say reluctantly because I’m too comfortable right here. Six years to retirement, 6 years until this house is paid off. In 6 years I was supposed to have finally made it.

But, as they say, if momma ain’t happy, nobody’s happy. And besides, it makes financial sense as the new house payment will be less than a house payment plus board. At least I hope it all works out that way. Of course we’re taking on more than six years.

So, at some point MRAM 1500 will be off line for a short time. We can start moving into the new place about a month from now.

Lefty is researching Domain names for the ALPB website and associated cost. Perhaps he will have some info to present.

Johny C has transferred the temporary ALPB webpage to the host server. Johny has offered to allow us to use his website host. Once the Domain name has been obtained the website will go public.

A test webpage was setup on Tripod, a free host. It was decided the banner adds would be to distracting and therefore the webpage would move to a paid host, courtesy of Johny C for the time being.
