Okay, this is what its all about. A few years ago I bought this vintage Broadcast Electronics Console off Ebay. It came with no power supply. The console seems to be intact, meaning, there doesn't seem to be any missing parts. I've given it a complete lookover several times. I would really like to get it working.   I also have a Soundcraft DCP125 Broadcast Console PSU AC Power Supply 17V + 48V. My question here is...Could the power supply possibly work with this particular console or could it be modified? Any help and info on this matter is highly appreciated.

You shouldn't try to connect a power supply to this unless you know the input voltage requirements. Try to find a manual or spec. sheet for it by searching the web. Many older types of equipment information is available but it sometimes takes some digging to find it.

post the model of broadcast electronics console you have and i will see if i can dig up a scanned manual on it or poke around some of my broadcast lists and see if anyone has info on it.

you can also email directly to [email protected] if i don't get back here soon. it is an off and on thing as to whether i get to these forums regularly though i try to check at least once a day.

This link puts you in touch with the Broadcast Electronics Support site where they have manuals for several older audio boards, by registering at the site.

What is the name of your console? If it is a 100A or a 200A I have a manual.

The console is, Broadcast Electronics, Model ES-172. I believe it was made in 1978. The Schematic came with it, however, I'm not much at reading such things.

I have the schematic diagram that came with it. However, I'm not much at reading these things. Tell me, how does one upload pics on this site?

Pictures can be attached to the original post only. Otherwise you need to use a file hosting site and link to that for pictures.

Here's a sample from a site which I use:

WillyJ I haven't found anything on your console using the BE-172 as a search for a power supply. Most of the BE consoles I have seen have built in power supplies.

The number on the FRONT panel should give you the model number. I've never heard of a BE-172. Also, when you do find a power supply,Make sure the voltage and the (Amperage very important) match Kennyboy

Most BE consoles of that vintage, I have ever worked on, all had built-in power supplies. There were terminal strips that an Ac cord hooked to. I have had several BE mixers at stations over the years. Don't remember ever seeing a model 172. Usually the power supply was around the right hand side near the back on a circuit card.....good luck with your project.
