I've have access to a computer
for the weekend. I want to try
to hear a bunch of you guys that
stream.
I started with Artisan Radio. But there
are several Artisan Radios on the net.
What does your website look like?
Is your stream up? I know I've heard
you before but I'm not quite aure I
have it right.
Bruce
www.artisanradio.com
You should be able to click on the dancing phonograph; it will launch your default music player and play the stream.
If that doesn't work, you can try either clicking on the link below it (the .mp3 one) or cut and paste that link into your favorite music player.
My DNS doesn't appear to be working, even though it shows up OK in my DNS provider.
You can get to the website by typing in the direct IP address: 50.68.36.158
And I'll try to figure out what's going on - it was working yesterday and I haven't changed anything.
OK, figured out what was going on. A query to whois established that my domain had expired. Apparently I missed an e-mail which the registrar had sent (my credit card changed and they couldn't renew it).
So, I've supposedly (at a cost) recovered the domains (artisanradio.com and artisanradio.ca) and hopefully they will be working shortly. The DNS is fine and doesn't expire until the end of the year.
I don't know how long it will take for the changes to percolate through the internet, so in the meantime, if you want to listen, just type in the URL that I gave in the previous post.
Thanks for the query, Bruce. I generally listen to my station over-the-air.
This was interesting. I tried typing in the direct IP address, and
although it did not work, I found what I got to be interesting,
as I had never done that before.
I clicked on the link you provided a few posts later. I got your
website, but my WindowsMediaPlayer had some kind of error.
I'm not surprised because there are other problems on my
end.
I've heard your great programming before, so I'll just
keep trying. Sooner or later I'll get it.
Best Wishes,
Bruce
I'll probably retransmit it (just in the house)
to a few antique radios I've got here.
It will give it that "radio" feel.
I'll be up for a few more hours to listen.
It's about 11:57 PM my time as I write this.
Best Wishes,
Bruce
And it is coming out of:
What IS this thing anyway?
It's a shirt pocket radio from the
1960s. It says on the front:
"StarFire HIFI Deluxe 14 transistor"
HA! I'll bet. I bet it's a 6 transistor radio
with 8 transistors soldered to the board.
As, I'm sure you know - - they did that in
those days. I couldn't get to the big old
tube radios in my collection. So it's this
little radio instead.
This is fun!
And the computerized voice sounds great!
Bruce
My barber gave me this radio.
He gave me another with the
"Viscount" brand name.
I'll have to see if that one is
still working. It's right here.
Seriously, for a radio dude like
me, who grew up with a Panasonic
shirt pocket radio from 1964 - this
is much better than using the computer
speakers.
Bruce
As of right now the ArtisanRadio link works just fine for me.
My second 1960s radio doesn't
run. I think a wire is broken.
Anyway, I'm glad you're getting it
too, Phil.
If memory serves me correctly,
you have about 10 antique radios.
Unless I'm thinking of another
person, which very well could be.
Bruce
Being "by the sea" is the smartest thing about Artisan Radio.
The Doowop sound from Artisan Radio will be streamed on KHZ AM 1640, Indoor Antenna Experimental Station, set to launch very soon from the Center of North America... by the river... "only 7-miles inland."
Carl, do you have any old
radios to send the Artisan
signal through? You know,
like antiques or whatever?
If you do, we'll have to meet
up on the other thread and talk
about 'em.
Bruce
