Most ankle transmitters mean house arrest, but this one looks free!

What a down-to-business straight-to-work circuit!

I think it might be beautiful!

Thanks for sharing this project. Nice and simple circuit.

Though from the schematic it appears that this could be a Class E circuit the actual class is determined by the biasing and tuning. It is not easy to tell if a circuit is operating Class E and even if yours is not it still works.

i dont have any scopes or anything to measure the power output of this right now. anyone who can E-ify this more than it might already be is welcome to. either way, low parts count no BS way of gettin it done

Man - just about anybody could

build this transmitter.

Aren't 1650 kHz crystals pretty easy

to get?

yea, xband xtals get scooped quick but if you poke around different supplyers you can find them.  http://www.4sqrp.com/kits/SAVXO/savxoassemblymanualv1.0b-02262012.pdf  also, look at this vxco which was made to go with the NS-40. im kinda thinkin i could use a crystal mixer even, since i keep old CB crystals

i loaded this into a coil and 6' wire tacked to the cieling and grounded it on a heater. i build the 50 ohm version of the output measuring feautured on the SSTRAN3000. now in the SStran manual they say your carrier will read around 15 volts. mines reading about 27 V even through i used a 150pf capacitor instead of a 200pf in the sstran. i like these readings im getting me, because it does lean towards me doing this efficiency thing right with this one.

You scared me RADIODIRTYSPRIN when you said the Voltage output of a loaded-coil AMT3000 should be set to 15V, so I checked the instructions and see where you picked up the 15V, that's the recommended range of the meter to be used.

Look at Step 9 - Voltage should be set to 13V. If it's higher, the RF waveform distorts and the audio crumbles.

neat, well i've got this around 27 volts with no distortion so i guess in terms of power output, i've bested ss-tran!
