i would think as advanced software is these days and how powerful processing has gotten that such a thing would be easily possible.
another thing i would suggest is making the fs/ft forum private and only visible to registered and logged in users.
many other forums have done this (and more are implementing it daily) for security and to prevent spamming.
I agree with only allowing registered user to post, but I think that with the type of forum this is, and it is an information source, that non registered visitors should still be able to view the posts in the regular Part 15 forum and the "for sale" section. Both would still provide exposure to new potential members as well as keep the information available to them, perhaps reading something a visitor may wish to join in on, or encourage them at the very least to sign on up!
Spammers can't do anything anyway unless they sign up to post their spam in the first place, so keeping everything under lock and key isn't going to prevent the spamming from happening.
