Never noticed it before, but those would make great call letters - "WHIM" - the station where capricious things happen for no reason.
But I originally intended to admit something about my Part 15 radio station that has never been talked about.
My posted schedule at kdxradio.com lists programs that get sent out Part 15 wise and stream wise all over the hemispheres. But certain things sometimes happen after all that.
On some nights, like tonight, I keep the AM transmitter lit long after the streams have closed down, and blaze away with personal picks that wouldn't be legit on the streams because of copyright limitations.
The String Quartet # 1 by Franz Schmidt was fed out on the AMT3000 with resonant loading coil and hyper-antenna, followed by the Symphony # 3 by Rheinhold Gliere, which is still airing as I type.
The exact music doesn't matter, but the experience could only happen with Part 15 radio.
Have you ever signed a licensed station on after hours and broadcast anything you want? It can't be done.
Why heck, I could open the mic right now and broadcast what I really think about the world.

The preceeding is a true story, except that I wan't listening to that fancy music. I only said that so I'd seem cultured.
Actually, it was Wayne Newton songs and Mitch Miller marches.
Great way to enjoy Part 15 leisure time.

WHIM is AM 1080 a Christian station in Miami. There doesn't seem to be an FM or TV station with that call.
Say Carl, you still getting the Oompah Hour OK? I noticed I don't have you on the mailing list for the weekly notice and playlist.

Thanks for doing a good job of Station Relations and checking up on my use of the Oompah Hour.
I haven't downloaded since program one because I am not covered by license to play most music, but it is a beautiful show and I want to do something to add to its success.
Right now my e-mail system is dead in the water, but I can receive messages right here on this forum, so let me know what I can do...
Maybe just a link or whatever else will benefit your projects. Let me know.
Cool. The Oompah Hour is uploaded every Sunday at:
http://www.ironrangecountry.com/oompahhour.mp3
As you probably know ๐ I try to upload it first thing every Sunday but the last couple weeks have been heck and it's been early afternoon before I got to it.
But it's always between 55 and 60 minutes long and completely free to use, listen to, broadcast, or whatever anyone would like to do with it. I think I have 6 or 7 stations using it now -- couple Part 15's, some internet only stations, and 3 commercial broadcast stations! It does have a sponsor included within the program, I do the spots live as part of the show and it's only two spots in the entire program.
Spread the word! I appreciate it if those who use it let me know and I'll add you to the list to let you know every week when the new show is up, and I also email a playlist in a word doc for those who need it for music licensing purposes.
It's not really critical to me if others use it, as I started the show to use on my own station, but as long as it's produced and done "generic" enough, anyone can use it!
I believe the show to upload tomorrow is show #13 !!
