Just now hearing that the Hillary Campaign spent $2,000,000 running campaign ads for two weeks in two states, it seems like a golden opportunty for commercial part 15 stations to get on the station list at campaign headquarters for all the candidates and have your price-list ready.
Back a few years ago I serviced a state political campaign by voicing and duplicating 500 ads which got sent to stations state-wide. Although that politician ended up never paying most of the vendors who provided services for the campaign, he did pay me, so I voted for him.
LPFM stations are screwed.
I'm sort of afraid of bragging too much locally about my station to folks I don't know. I know that my FM station could be a gray area till Tim does his field intensity tests on the Decade. If its right at 250uV/m at 3 meters I know I'll probably shut down if all you can get in the car is 200 feet. AM will be my only playground after that but too I don't want to have the FCC inspect my Talking House AM transmitter and say “your putting out 120 millawatts and we are going to have to take your transmitter away. I've heard from a very reliable source that this actually happened to someone. There has been case history where people put ads in a newspaper or go to their library and put up a bulletin or flier up and within less than a week the FCC comes knocking and wanting to inspect the station. I know I plan to run the inside antenna wire up my window and try and keep it vertical so they won't see the actual antenna outside but still I'm not looking to get in trouble. I don't know how many of you advertise your station. I may put up a sign on my front porch about it. I don't make up a call sign at all either just The Legacy that is IT. If I can advertise my station safely I did find out that I can make up to $600 before they start taking away my SSDI and I have a trial period too. This came right from the local office when they found I was running a station. Since I was lucky to make $400 in a year I was safe and she didn't even want to write up any paperwork because she was listening and keeping an eye on my Internet station. I don't know even if they'll take part 15 AM serious or not. Hell I have ran my FM station since June 5th and no one locally called the Rockline and I have the ID with my station number to call if anyone is receiving any interference.
