I'm curious if my pricing is off a little or if it is just the time of the year being before tax time and after christmas. i sold a couple pieces but haven't really gotten any bites on the rest of it.
i really hate to go to eBay and deal with the fees and whack jobs that now plague that site.
People hate paying big chunks of money. The reason e-bay is so successful (particularly for auctions) is that it gives the illusion that you may get something for a bargain price. The reality for most is that they get carried away bidding and drive the price up to far more than you might pay elsewhere. Of course, there's always an element of risk in running an auction if the item is not in high demand - but then, you can always peg the starting bid price higher (but no reserves, they tend to inhibit bidding).
The other advantage of e-bay is that you're getting a global audience. You probably don't have much choice if things don't sell locally.
I have noticed over the past few months that, since now the economy is getting better, used items are selling for less - I suspect that people are buying new (whereas in the past, people would pay a premium to buy used to save even just a few dollars off the new price).
From my own perspective and experience I am reluctant to spend a lot of money when entering a new activity. One of my latest pursuits can illustrate this. I have always been interested in instrumentation and also radioactivity and came upon a scintillation head at a surplus store for $45. This head contained a NaI:Tl crystal, a photomultiplier tube, and some electronics. With this I built from parts a multichannel analyzer (MCA) and was able to produce rough gamma spectra of radioactive items. This was my entry into this field.
As I matured in my experience I wanted better equipment and I added this piece by piece. First came a better PMT salvaged from junked equipment ($0). Then came a better crystal ($150) then another new PMT ($95) then a better A/D converter chip ($14) and so on. This was over the course of several years.
Someone interested in gamma spectroscopy can buy turnkey systems for $1500 and up but I was not willing to do so just to see if I would be interested in this.
The same thinking may apply to many who look at complete packages for hobby broadcasting for example. For them it may be best to phase into this piece by piece and that could be why buying a "packaged deal" may not be appealing.
That being said, maybe it would be best to unbundle the items and offer them individually for sale.
Not knowing the market I don't know if your prices are attractive. I just think there are factors beside price that buyers consider.

I hid my wallet so well that even I can't find it, because I am over budget and scared of spending any more.
It's amazing that we can be "over" a non-existant budget.
Equipment always wants me to buy it, so I have to be on guard.
