Greetings to all you RF engineers out there. I have a question concerning the use of PARTIAL ground radials. I recall this question was asked back on the old part15.us, so forgive me for rehashing it.
My base-loaded 3m vertical whip is mounted on a mast near my house. In this configuration, I could only put radials in the ground around 180 degrees (semicircle), at most.
Would this arrangement buy me anything useful, since I wouldn't be able to put them in a full 360 degree pattern? Would I get a better radiation in some direction? Or would this hurt me and cause the signal to be radiated less all around?
