OK, I promise, last pitch for "Tim's Oompah Hour" for the season. Really needing a polka "old tyme" show for my station and finding nothing already existing that either I wanted to run, or getting replies from the one I was interested (they ignored me) I decided to produce my own.
It's up for grabs for anyone who might like to run an hour long polka show once a week (or more if you want to re-run it). No strings, no cost. I do have a sponsor that I talk about within the program but other than that, no catch. It will be uploaded to the same link every Sunday for the upcoming week so if you have automation to download for you, the link will remain constant.
I've had a couple here jump on board already, so if anyone wants to.. the first show is uploaded but it's actually meant to start for this coming week (Officially for air Sunday the 30th through Saturday the 5th, new show replaces this one on the 6th) but feel free to use it however you like.
I added a little web site for it at: http://www.ironrangecountry.com/oompahhour.html
and the link for the show is:
http://www.ironrangecountry.com/oompahhour.mp3
The shows should all be 55-60 minutes long, in stereo.
All I ask is if you want to use it you let me know, and also let me know if I can add your station and or it's logo to the website as an affiliate.
I dug out my collection of several hundred polka/old tyme records (many moons ago I worked at a full tine polka station) and am playing a good mix of all typical nationalities of old tyme music (Polish, German, Serb, Czech, Slav, etc) and from all over the country (every region seems to have their own style, record companies, and bands).
