There was a great suggestion a while back to use twin lead antenna cable for radials - you get 2 radials in one wire.
I wonder if anyone has tried using something like CAT 5 network cable - basically 8 insulated radials in one wire? And pretty cheap as well. Any reasons why this may not work?

Cat will work as long as the wires are spaced out at the far ends.

It turns out the clay-based litter (before being used by the cat) is a good way to improve ground conductivity:
