I've owned a Metzo transmitter for about a year now, but never gotten around to getting
it working. I've got several questions:

A. Various web sites mention that the radio can be modified for 1 watt output (if it
becomes legal) Does anyone know what is required for this modification?

B. I'd also like to have a .PDF version of the users manual. I've seen links
for this manual, but they all appear to be broken. No manual is listed on the

companies web site either. Any chance anyone can post one or e-mail it to me?

Any information greatly appreciated.

Having once contacted Metzo, I was told by them that a certain integrated circuit that they manufacture had to be added for the 1 watt operation. It was not available to US customers. I, too, was hoping that it was just the changing of a resistor or something. They said that the one watt model was only available in Scandanavia at that time. Shortly afterwards they dropped mention of the 1 watt possiblity from their USA adverstising. I've seen the manual in the past on the web yet can't seem to find it now. I, too, thought that it was a take off of the SSTRAN, yet the manual shows the internal layout of components to be completely different. Jim B

Les,

I've been using a Metzo for about a year also. I'd like to try an EH antenna but for now the wire that came with it gets the signal about 300 feet down the road. The unit is located on the 2nd floor of my garage with the wire antenna just hanging from the rafters.

What antenna are you using and what kind of range do you get?

Bob
