FOr those of us who live in states with legalized medical or recreational marijuana, here's a real opportunity for us as independent broadcasters thinking 'outside the box' (or, um, baggie, if you will). With licensed stations avoiding running ads from marijuana related businesses (dispensaries, certification clinics, head shops) for fear of stepping on federal toes and risking their FCC licenses, the door is wide open for us. We can offer businesses in our neighborhoods excellent advertising rates and geographic micro-targeting.
Here's an article I found that's aimed at streaming internet stations, but much of the logic applies equally to our Part 15 stations.

That is a very good tip for part 15 and streaming stations.
It seems to me that even in states that haven't legalized it, streaming stations especially could simply tag their ad with "Not legal in all states."
Simply running the ads from within non-cannibus jurisdictions is not illegal, and the tag-line would surely cover that base.
A space on your website might also bring in a dollar.
