I'm strung out trying to find info on this, kind of difficult to follow a number of different threads.

I'm strung out trying to find info on this, kind of difficult to follow a number of different threads.

So, is there some 'official' way to become a member? Is there actually some sort of organization, or do we just 'declare' ourselves members? Is there a website? FB page?

What I want to do is see if any of you would like to affiliate by carrying the LIVE broadcasts of Friday Harbor High School Wolverines Varsity Sports (now football, basketball in season), just to generate some interest in how it could be done in other communities. I think y'all might be surprised at the results, as I was here when we started picking up financial support for it.

And ... speaking of that, does ALPB have a treasurer who could take responsibility for setting up, say, a PayPal account to take donations? How might that affect donations to this forum, i.e., would it expand or decrease them?

BTW, I apologize for not being here much, but I have a huge plate-full, really more than I can handle. In addition to recent programming changes, I'm trying to design a new website and FB page, must haul out my boat for bottom and topside paint before the thing sinks, installing new fresh water pump system - found out the countertop substrate is rotting out, more work 🙁

Also playing in Praise Band (requires practice) and working console on Sunday.

Etc., etc. I need at least 36-hour days just to keep up. What with driving a taxi all Summer, haven't gotten more than 6 hours sleep/day, haven't been able to do billing or even pay bills. When do I eat or take a shower?

Ol' Ken's fallin' apart, needs to slow down at some point ... soon, before my little trolly runs off the tracks ...

Hi Ken, there is a seperate forum setup for ALPB, I will add you to the list so you can follow along. I am also working on how to 'represent' ALPB better here on part15 so that it is more obvious 🙂

Cheers!
Jon Paul

Ken, at this point in time ALPB is still finalizing its basic structure. We have a core group, Charter Members, that are working on our basic guidelines.

I have been appointed Acting Chairman by Lefty Gomez (Joe Martinez) the founding member. We've had a few meetings. I chaired the last one.

In time as the organization grows we may find the need for officers such as a Treasurer, Secretary, etc.

Anyone can join by agreeing to follow the ALPB guidelines and actively participating. The guidelines as currently written are posted on Part15.us labled "ALPB Organizational Structure".

We are working on a website and FTP. A temporary test website has been created at THEALPB.tripod.com which is FREE. The FTP is in the works. Both items will be topic of discussion at the next meeting, October 19th.

Email me at [email protected] and I will send you information regarding Team Speak, an internet based teleconference application that provides an audio round table for our meetings.

If you have any other questions feel free to let me know.

I visited the temporary website and it is something to be very pleased about.

I do have a serious inquiry regarding the stream rate setting of Team Speak. What is it set at now?

Can it be adjusted?

Two of our meeting participants had speed/connection problems, so if possible, I think we should possibly make a speed adjustment.

Lefty Gomez made arrangements for using Team Speak. I will contact him regarding this issue to see what can be done.
