Via a Radio World article, a few sources of free programing. Some from College broadcasters (which has been mentioned here some time back), also an animal radio show, a show on being a better father, another called the "Thom Hartmann Talk Show", and a few other links that might be of interest. So in case you havent already seen it: http://www.radioworld.com/default.aspx?tabid=75&entryid=10268
And of course, let's not forget http://www.radio4all.net/
And.. from a post earlier this year, a few more: http://www.part15.us/forum/part15-forums/short-format-programming
Along with all the good free programming that's out there, I have an idea for a new program series or even an entire format that might appeal to listeners...
FOOD.
Yes, a FOOD station!
I see a lot of food news all the time, studies about food that's good for you or bad for you and suggestions for food and weight loss tips and recipes and customs.
I might start looking for more food programs.
We've been on a strict gluten free diet suitable for those afflicted with the Celiac problem.
I don't have the Celiac gene but even so, the gluten free diet has a host of other benefits. My wife constantly researches this cuisine and works on finding better recipies.
She claims she doesn't miss anything however I miss a great loaf of wheat bread. We first substituted rice flour for wheat flour but rice flour was found to have 6 parts per million of gluten so thats out. Next substitute is Tapioca flour. Not quite perfected yet.
I love pancakes and waffles. Tapioca flour creates pancake/waffle flavored gummy bears-a bit chewy. The brownies are great but the cake-chocolate flavored gummy bears again.
Short story, perhaps I could persuade her to do a show about this "interesting" diet.
If Mrs. MRAM does a healthy food show KDX will carry it during prime time.
Prime time is anytime I happen to be listening to it.
And if anyone else does a food show or food news roundup, count me in as an affiliate station.
NPR has a heap of short little food features
