As reluctant as I am to say so, KDX Worldround Radio is more or less outside of the city limits of St. Louis, Missouri.
There are many things wrong about it, including the fact that a recent pope de-canonized Louis XIV, patron saint of the city, which means he's no longer a saint. The reason told me as to why the city hasn't made a correction is "because we have 20,000 letter-heads and business cards with the old name."
Two stations on the dial include Highland, Illinois, AM 1510 and East St. Louis, Illinois, AM 1490. Recently Highland featured Hispanic music and East St. Louis carried Fox Sports.
But today both of them are playing country music and I sense "new format intro time" since it is Labor Day, beginning of September.
Even if no one cares I'll do follow-up reports.
Holiday was yesterday, now we're into the business week and sure enough, AM 1490 and AM 1510 have gone country... both stations simulcasting.
The two stations are owned by the same guy who also owns two other AM stations.
Amazingly enough I'm also hearing live staff on 1490 and 1510... previously these stations were semi-automated.
