This one was built by me, tested, and works great! So what do you get for your money? Well. You don't have to build it; so if soldering isn't your bag, man, then this is a great deal for you. Also; as an added "WHOOHOO!" it is already mounted inside of a weather proof box *AND* has the mounting point for the standard 102" stainless steel whip.
As an added bonus; I have built an (ugly) breakout box for taking balanced input and power, and left the CAT5 connections in place (although no length of cat5 comes with it). ANd of course, you get the power supply.
250.00 takes it shipped in the lower 48. If you want insurance, tracking, or something other than "cheapest" shipping, you pay for that. For my Canadian buddies - if you dont mind slower shipping, then it is included, if you want better, then we have to chat.
About the only thing I am interested in swapping would be an ASI audio card and hardware for it.
This hits eBay on Monday.
It's heading over the pond....
As a side note: This transmitter is awesome. I have zero issues with it. I really just wanted to build it, test it, and see how well it performed as compared to the other ones out there. I honestly feel that the sound and range far exceed my expectations. I was able to get solid clean sound at a great distance. It is certainly not the right transmitter for the novice or non-techie. However, anyone who can solder can build this and get it running with some additional help from places like Part15.us or directly from Phil who has been super responsive.
Most likely, I will build another one at some point, just because I really had fun doing that..
Based on how many transmitters I tuck into every spare corner I call this place "Transmitter Ranch."
At present the two operational units are AMT5000 and AMT3000, from Wintennas, that is, metal window frames that radiate both outward and inward. It works well for home listening, and the AMT5000 also happens to reach out for several blocks.
Two outdoor towers are planned, at least one of those will be a second AMT5000 with full ground radials.
The second outdoor tower might have my Ramsey AM25B upgraded with the Radio8Z modifications, or ir might be a Radio8Z high-efficiency transmitter, or both.
Some day, if I find enough money by watching the ground very carefully, I hope to own each of the certified AM transmitters.
I believe in backups for each transmitter location.
I didn't even get around to mentioning the carrier current station. You'd think I'd have mentioned it.
Its BACK on the market:
Either for sale, or willing to trade for:
studio quality CD decks (2), and a line level converter ( http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/555-8485)
Or a carrier current coupler or transmitter.

gone - for sure this time - either by the party who bought it, or by becoming the standby-standby transmitter.
