FM XMTRS
Are there any other FM transmitters out there in kit form or asembled with the same or better features/quality of the Ramsey FM-30?
I would like a backup unit and also something we can use at work that will get us a bit better coverage than the cCrane unit.
Also does anyone here have any plans for an FM transmitter with a tube final 1 watt or less?

That's a tough one - I did a google search for "2 meter linear tube" and didn't come up with much 🙁
There are a number of other FM XMTR options 8)

I did find a commerical version of a FM Tube Transmitter but it is rated at 10,000 watts and it is quite heavy by weight. Check out:
You may be able to obtain operation manuals and schematics of this transmitter, if the seller is willing to send you a copy of the manuals. Some companys do and some don't. It would not hurt to ask.
I have used the PCS FM transmitter that fits into a PCI slot on a computer. The first versions had problems with noise pick-up from the computer buss and power supply. This has since been fixed. I have 2 of them and one runs at a local university for information about parking etc. I use Winamp in conjuction with the transmitter along with some audio compression/limiter software. The results are quit good and the service from PCS is exceptonal.

Whooo, boy. That was the wrong thing for you to do as far as I am concerned. You just sent a kid into a candy store with a no limit credit card. I am still looking to see how much stuff I can buy from All Electronics that I dont really need but just have to have!!!
Thanks for all those links, In time I will go through them all.
I also looked for L-P tube transmitters via Google/Yahoo and came up empty handed as well. Thought there might be some hams out there with some old tube transmitter info.

Thanks but I'll pass on this one. Don't need 10kw!!!
The PCI-MAX powers the FM side of East Hill Radio. The audio is awesome and the installation is a breeze. I have the power turned down to Part-15 levels (I'm not interested in a visit from the FCC), and am getting good coverage for the immediate neighborhood. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the unit and would buy another one.
hey frank - you running an outdoor antenna on that pcs card, or just a indoor dipole type thingy?
I'm running the indoor antenna for now. I'd like to put up an outdoor antenna, but I might move the transmitter upstairs so it's higher.
i think i might pick up one of those.. I was looking for a small low cost fm tranny that could be part15 compliant ..
i had one of the early isa versions..
