Look at adchoice and googleadservices etc.
They use tracking cookies to target ads on your pc, so other sites using these show targeted ads.
If you use ebay, look at your account tab, and under site preferences under advertising preferences, are you opted in ?
Also whilst you are at it, look at authorisations option !

Now I think I might know whats going on. If you are useing Google you could have your google account logged in. If you are useing the same account on his PC that you have on yours then it could be showing the stuff you looked up in ads.
Ah ha!.. I rarely use my gmail for email, but yes, I guess I never log out of google.
What web brower were you useing and were they both the same?
Yes and no - his computer is internet explorer, but myself, I prefer sea-monkey at home, but often using ie if on the laptop

Depends where I am, and which computer.. 1/2 the time I'm thru bellsouth, other half it's comcast..
As soon as you mentioned google, I knew that was it.. It just didn't occur to me - Though I rarely use my gmail account, I never take the steps to log out of google.. Google's connected to just about everything except my personal email.
