Hard to say, could be the player isn't supported by your system. I just tried it and it loaded fine.
We did have a rocky startup. Tonight was another experiment. We used the schools equipment on site, a JK Audio MR4 mixer/phone hybrid. A dial-up phone line was used to get the audio to the school studio. That part worked fine.
At that point, using a Barix box, the audio streams to the transmitter over the internet from the school. For some reason that part of the path was not cooperating.
The fall back was to use my laptop with the TeamSpeak link I have been using regularly for remotes. That worked fine the whole night. Interestingly, I noticed a couple ALPB members had a chat going in another TeamSpeak room which caused no problem on our end.
And just to make the start-up interesting the transmitter experienced a high SWR shutdown about 10 minutes before we went live. I suspect Big Bird landed on the antenna. Seriously, I've watched this happen. Since we don't have a Radome over the antenna when a large bird like a hawk lands on the antenna the SWR goes wacko. Usually the bird doesn't hang around for more than a few seconds and the transmitter recovers. This time the bird must have been enjoying that warming sensation.
Anyway, once we got it going everything was fine. Now I just need to figure out why the stream from their studio didn't work. The final solution will be to get the schools equipment working so they can take over their live remotes.
There are some very large birds up in the air looking for a place to perch.
This is the first time I've heard of the de-tuning effect brought about by the presence of such a bird.
We had a great horned owl pair last year that raised a family and used the KDX bird bath. When it came down for a drink it looked like a brown pair of pants falling out of the trees.
You (MRAM Bob) are a fabulous on-site trouble-shooter.
Trouble? Call Shooter Bob.
We use skype for remotes and ball games at the cluster of stations I work at. Pairs up nicely with the JKAudio box.
Sounds great, I'd never allow another cellphone / landline game on the stations again.
We have some pesky birds that like to sit on the STL antenna on the AM tower. This usually causes the STL signal to be lost and the station to go silent.
Will Skype do stereo? The TeamSpeak link will and the fidelity seems quite adequate for music.
Yes skype does do stereo.
Free Thinker Radio will be doing a double take tonight.
Always on the playlist from 11pm to midnight Free Thinker Radio will also be on LIVE from 10pm to 11pm so you'll get 2 hours of Free Thinker Radio on
Well, here it is again. The time goes so fast and I didn't get the notice out when I should have.
The ALPB TeamSpeak meeting is tonight, Saturday October 17th at 8:00 pm Eastern Time (Sunday, 0:00 UTC.)
Business meeting is generally very short as there hasn't been much going on BUT the meeting after the meeting is always very interesting and informative. A chance to catch up on what's happening with the ongoing FM Initiative.
For those not familiar with this, a petition to change the rule for Part 15 FM is being tossed around. Some basic drafts have been proposed and lots of field testing of various transmitters has been done.
Some of the ideas thrown out there relate to requesting increases of permitted field strength while others address problems with rule definitions and the ability to verify field measurments.
Why is The ALPB? One idea The ALPB was developed around was sharred programming. It came to mind that an easy way to "network" a live program while keeping access limited to the intended recipients is to utilize the TeamSpeak STL channel. Only members have access which amounts to a private STL. Several members can simultaneously receive these programs for rebroadcast live or recorded for later. I have been using TeamSpeak for live remote broadcasts over our LPFM with great success. This would require some scheduling but would be interesting to try.
For this and other topics join us at the meeting tonight. Not a member yet? Simply read over The ALPB Charter and if it sounds OK, let me know. Then download and install TeamSpeak Client 3 and when you're ready I'll send along the TeamSpeak username and password. That's IT! Nothing to sign, no dues, no commitment. Just people with a common interest looking for more interested people.
As always, Thanks for your support...

Tonight is the LAST Falls Tigers Football game. The team is 0 and 9 and the opponent is 0 and 9 so this should be a good game. Can't wait to see who goes home a winner.
Game time is 7 pm, pre-game shortly before. You can listen live at:
Meeting time again!
We had a long break due to 5 Saturdays in October so I'm sure there will be some catching up to do.
We have a New Member, Jeff Mein joined The ALPB as of today and plans to be at the meeting.
Jeff, Station8, got the OK to put the Talking House info on The ALPB website and that was done soon after the last meeting. Jeff has done a great job of providing many equipment manuals and information.
I have not heard from the God Father of The ALPB, Joe Martinez, for a while but as he checks in here occasionally perhaps we can persuade him to drop by for a visit!
See, or rather, hear you at the meeting this Saturday, November 7th at 8:00 pm Eastern time (01:00 UTC Sunday for our International members.)

(Edit: Please note the new meeting time is 8:00 pm Eastern-I almost forgot we changed it!)
I like the new time being 8:00 PM. Good Stuff.
A couple of meetings ago I floated the question whether meetings could be held an hour earlier than they were, and I was willing to accept whatever the members decided, but was highly delighted by how every member voted to meet one hour earlier.
Low power people are some of the best people around.
This is the WCFI Remote setup I use. A Behringer mixer with two window mics for live sound off the field and two headset mics for the announcers. The laptop is running ZaraRadio for prerecorded spots, TeamSpeak for the STL, a nifty VU meter app and Windows sound mixer.
I also have a 4 channel headset distribution amp and pipe a radio into the cue buss for air checks to make sure everything sounds OK.
Not a lot of room on the desk so it gets really cluttered with cables.
These two guys are the Sportscasters. Joe Nowak on the left, Doug Phillips on the right. These guys are great! They know the teams and have all the stats at their finger-tips.
Here's a short clip of the guys in action: GAME CLIP
OK, not a Part 15 operation but the same setup would work great for that too!
Great view of the game field!
Standing, pretty good view. Sitting in corner not so good. Our window is at the 40 yard line but sitting to the left you can't see up field unless you lean out the window.
I'll be recabling my desk today to try to clean up the spagetti mess behind it. As such, everything will be offline for a little while including the TeamSpeak server.
This cleanup will start just before 11am today and shouldn't take too long. Hopefully this doesn't inconvenience anyone.
Thanks Bob. Studio looks interesting. That Windows sound mixer you use is that part of Zara? Just wondering. I like the VU meters on it. Easy to see and thus helps keep modulation levels at a constant level.
As for Teamspeak I noticed you had to go off last night. Another member of the FM Initiative and I were kicking around some ideas. The pass coded channel is nice too.
