I have attempted several times to delete the original "Rhema Radio" jpeg and then upload a new picture for my member file. The original pic will successfully delete, but when I try to upload the new pic it inserts the old graphic instead. Arghhhh! I apparently need help from someone with admin access. I have tried to send several emails, but apparently most of those have gone into deep space.

Please remember, maximum dimensions are 100x100 and the maximum size is 30 kB. It seems that lately many applications can no longer accurately estimate very small file sizes so your info might be that the file is less that 30kB and the server might see that file differently.

There are two processes that can lead to a delay - there are some security processes in place and our servers and the servers along the way take a time to update.

Your PC cache will also need to refresh the graphic on your local display.

We now get over 500 unique visitors each day and 60% are new. Many are folks just like us who are looking for more information about the hobby

Others are skrYpt kyDDys, bots, live hackers and spammers looking to inject their filth into this popular site any way they can and keeping them at bay does certainly impact certain user processes.

Thank you for your understanding

I tried to upload a graphic a few days ago....never had one there, yet the graphic did not save anyway...so ya there must be some sort of glintch going on there.

The crew is probably out studying EAS protocols. 😉

Well, I haven't gotten to the point of throwing the computer out the window. So, probably like you, I just moved on to the next project. I hope somebody gets the notion it doesn't work. Uploading graphics is a simple process normally. The admin folks apparently have that function locked up. (This is me tapping my foot and drumming my fingers.)

I had problems uploading here a few times also, but when I tried again later it gave me no problem at all. I suggest to try again later - it'll probably work.
Just be sure the file size doesn't exceed the limit

How do you make those little graphic thumbnails?

I should have one of those.

What art software makes them?

I mostly use Gimp and Photo Shop to produce graphics. Then if I want an animated graphic, I use easy gif animator by constructing either single frames of animation in Gimp or Photo Shop, or use things like wipes and fades and such in the gif animator.

Tons of programs out there to that kind of thing. I think the size limit for the name graphic is 125x125 maximum ratio.

I don't know but I've been told that sometimes it takes a while for new content to migrate through the site software and files so changes may not take effect immediately.

Here's a thread with some info about avatars:

I'll make you one if you want Carl. What do you want? a picture? a logo? animation? give me an idea, - or you want me to just do whatever comes to mind?
I generally use photoshop.

I'll make you one.

Thank you Rich Powers. That would be super if you'd build a tiny graphic for my postings.

Let's see.. cool looking call letters... KDX...

No picture of me since you can't see a radio announcer...

Maybe a slogan.... The Talking Point

If that's too many words, maybe some frequencies instead...
how about.... 1680 / 107.1 / 13.56

AM / FM / SW

And then, to give it the artist's signature, put in a surprise from you, the artist, only no pets.

THANKS!

Hi Rich,

I didn't think about animation 'til I saw yours. Now I want an animated one, too. How did you accomplish that?

Gotcha Scwis, and I totally understand why.

Ken,
It took years of research and trial and error.. for somebody... not me.
I do it in 'Adobe Photoshop' with different layers, then I send it to 'Adobe Image Ready' which allows me blend them into an animation.
Really not all that difficult. I'm sure there are probably plenty of freeware programs to do it also. A search for "animated gif freeware" would find them.
And you know I'd do one for you if you wanted, just let me know.
