Sorry I haven't been around much. Since I moved out on August 17th I've been extremely busy. Between work and unpacking and household chores (mommy and daddy aren't around anymore), I've been lucky to check my email on a weekly basis.

I'm writing to inquire about the recent events involving the NALPB and part 15 in general. Every time there's a meeting, I've had to work.

Any links to mp3 files of the meetings would be appreciated.

Apparently Lefty has been very busy per his previous posts and apologized for not being able to tend to the group.

The previous meetings can be heard at KDX Low Power Hour. Carl has graciously dedicated his services to record and include the meetings in his Low Power Hour series.

I will try to contact Lefty to see if he would like me to continue on with the ALPB meetings on Team Speak. I see no reason not to as there will always be situations that may prevent him from being able to chair the meeting. Lefty considered me his alternate at one point as we discussed the concept of the group before its birth.

There has been some discusion on Part15 regarding meeting times. I will go out on a limb and request a poll to see what the majority feel will work best.

Very pleased to hear you are the nominal alternate chairman, MRAM, but I also very much would like to see lefty continue with the low power group he conceived.

Getting everyone's schedule aligned is a monster of a puzzle, so I will be ultra flexible by saying that I am available 7-days a week between the hours of 10 AM and no later than 8 PM Central Time. On the other hand, if 3 AM is absolutely necessary, something can be worked out.

I spoke with Lefty this evening regarding the ALPB.

He reaffirmed his situation. Currently he is deeply involved in a new business venture. As such, a tremendous amount of time is being spent on this endeavor and he simply has time for nothing else right now. When opportunity knocks...

He fully intends to rejoin the group as things settle down regarding his new business.

In his abscence, he has requested that I continue the Team Speak meetings.

As there has been some discussion regarding meeting times, I will be asking for input in the near future in the form of a POLL or direct email.

I will be hosting an informal Team Speak meeting, Friday, October 5th at 2300 GMT (7pm EDT) for any interested parties.

Lefty's concept of the ALPB can be developed into a very helpful tool to further our Part 15 broadcasting efforts. Let's keep it alive.

Yes.

Or, to add more detail, I will attend the Oct 5 meeting.

Be sure to change your calendar to the new month, and you will see that October 5th isn't far away.

Hey kc8gpd, why sit in the shadows?

This is an open meeting, probably a short one just to explain what's going on.

And, if you don't have Team Speak installed yet, the meeting may well be carried on Carl's Low Power Hour for all to hear.

Lefty will be back, he's just not sure how long his current situation will last.

I'm not very articulate so I shy away from "live" sessions (edits make me sound good.) But, I'll suck it up for Lefty and keep the door open to what could blossom into a very useful tool.

The word "articulate" is comprised of two words -- "art" and "ticulate".

No one knows what the word "ticulate" means.

The "art" consists of talking about things whose meaning we may not know, that is to say, "ticulate" things.

So relax and do what I do, talk as if you think you're articulate, and no one will have the nerve to tell you that you are mostly "ticulate" and less "art".

The Oct. 5 meeting will be on the LPH.

It just depends on what I've got going on after work.

i drive g/f and her son to work at that time of day but i have other issues around attending as well regarding the chairman running a questionable part 15219 setup including self incriminating photo evidence for anyone to see. should this individual get a nouo or nov for that setup it would put a huge shadow over the credibility of the organization.

i have bee a member here since this forum moved over from the old crusa forum.

i have seen many things play out and recently replay out and in the case this organization while its gotten a little further than the last attempt at creating a organization i have a feeling this will end up with the same fate of the original attempt at this idea.

sorry to say it but its where i ultimately see it heading especially given what i previously mentioned about credibility.

i was trying to avoid saying anything in hopes someone else would bring this tidbit up but i felt it is something that needed to be said.

In reply to kc8gpd, I think we are not fcc inspectors and it is not our job to judge the part 15 setups of other members based on photographs.

If we think another member is violating some rule maybe the polite thing to do would be to e-mail that member with your opinion, privately and not in public.

So forget about those photos and please join the group, kc8gpd, you would be a very valuable member. In fact, you might be the member that keeps the group going in the future.

So what if the group is doomed eventually? Go down with it.

The group probably will grow into a powerful lobby organization for part 15. For a group to succeed, its members need to believe in it.

I sometimes wonder if some of us should be inspectors. We seem to find things, even well attempted hidden things more than even the hired inspectors out of the enforcement office.

It took me all but 20 minutes to track down an issue with a certified unit..or rather a modified certified unit that was not re-evaluated with those modifications to be continued to be marketed under the un-modified unit's certification. So far there is no evidence anywhere of a re-evaluation on record.

Playing the silent game or being passive about something we see wrong is not a good thing, and is why so much is out of control and messed up today.

If things are going to change for the better, then we had better become involved. Men of integrity and honesty need do nothing for evil to succeed.

It's time to quit being passive..about many things.

This organization that was created...it's a great idea and a great way to build up enough push to begin the processes of bringing about a change..such as relaxed Part 15 rules. To be honest, I am disgusted with how the organization has evolved into. Out of the meetings I have attended (2), there seems to be more focus on providing a network of programing rather than focusing on administrative level issues such as developing a strategy to begin to petition the FCC for relaxed Part 15 rules.

There does not need to be an organization to build a program distribution warehouse. The organization could put it's time to far better use and focus on far more important issues than figuring out how to distribute programs.

This thread has really gone off topic, drifting from what's happening with ALPB to criminal accusations and becoming SS informants.

I think this is what Neil was referring to regarding inappropriate posts.

I wouldn't doubt this thread will be LOCKED soon.

Note my post begins with a response to Carl's post.

Then my post proceeds to discussing thread topic...ALPB and my thoughts on it's current status.

"to criminal accusations and becoming SS informants."

If you got evidence that proves otherwise, then kindly provide it. And if you do have evidence that provides otherwise, might want to turn that over to the OET too.

The very reason we need you in the group is to raise a proposal that we move away from program distribution and put the attention to something more urgent.

I would tend to think that radio programs already distribute themselves, and that most part 15 stations do not produce programs for general distribution.

I'll join you in a motion to change the focus of the group.
