There'ss always something more to discover about radio history, and last night I ran across an aircheck on archive.org from the Bob Lassiter Show on WFLA, Tampa Bay, Fla, 1987. I listened and was shocked by his bold, impolite style, some might say he was plowing new ground later to be called "shock jock."
Wikipedia has a lengthy writeup and several other websites celebrate the memory of this one-of-a-kind radio personality.
His style is a little too controversial for the Low Power Hour, which is why I produced a one-hour special edition of Blare OnAir to showcase Bob Lassiter and his story.

CRUCIAL INFORMATION
An updated VERSION 2 of this Special Edition Program is now uploaded and replaces the original (V1) version.
If you don't see V2 in the title you do not have the correct show and need to act immediately.
CHANGES: Perhaps the best improvement with V2 is a careful re-mastering of the Bob Lassiter Aircheck, originally digitized in low sampling rate from an audio tape by whoever posted it in the first place.
ALSO, I added a line near the end which better wraps the story being shared on this program.

I knew Bob personally. In the real world he was a pussycat.
