FCC Operator: "Thank you for calling the FCC. How may I direct your call?"
WDCX: "Could you connect me with the Part 15 Department?"
FCC Operator: "Let me look that up for you."
pause
FCC Operator: "Sir I can't seem to find such a department. Are you sure this is the correct name?"
WDCX: "I am certain of it. You are familiar with the New Radio Revolution project aren't you?"
FCC Operator: "I can't say I am."
WDCX: "Well that's were I heard about it."
FCC Operator: "Oh, you mean the Hearsay Department. Let me connect you."
Pretty much how it went with our FCC lawyer as well, no such thing. Got a great laugh out of him though, might have made his day.
I mean, who in their right mind would believe this?! The logistics alone would be an absolute nightmare.
Following Druid Hill's FCC call here is my follow-up call:
FCC OPERATOR: Good afternoon, how may I direct your call?
CARL BLARE: Hi, this is Carl in the Part 15 Department, have I had any calls?
Too funny
In all seriousness, you should have asked for the Wireless Division I am sure that would have gotten you further.
Division? Eh i hate math.
In my radio conversation with Jeff Station8 he mentioned a rule pointed out by the FCC in his phone call...
As a brain exercise compare 2.805 with 15.23 - "Home Built Devices". Do the two rules say the same thing or are there contradictions. My head is unable to be sure.
Finally this morning I call attention to 15.15 (c) "...the parties responsible for equipment compliance are encouraged to employ the minimum field strength necessary for communications."
I think 15.15 should be mentioned along with the more popular rules like 15.219 and 15.239.
To be truthful, the FCC rules are like the King James Bible, where translations of such, have made many wonder what the original meanings were in the first place.
It's all Japanese to me Senor.
Bruce.
