the association started by lefty seems to have geared itself to programming and distribution rather than regulatory and administrative topics. this is fine nothing wrong with that.

meanwhile rfb has started such sn association geared to the regulatory and administrative issues between fcc and lp broadcasters.
the association info can be found here....

i will be adding my name to it when i get back home.
We started something with the low power organization. Now it's in fashion to start low power organizations, and it can't hurt. It brings attention to part 15 radio broadcasting and the hobby/profession will grow as a result.
kc8gpd, is there any reason you can't belong to both groups? I'd like to see you in our group because you have been a creative force on this website for a longtime.
RFB is a talented engineer who understands how radio is put together. I hope he, too, will think about belonging to both groups.
I don't speak officially for the ALPB, but what you are saying is totally and completely incorrect. That so-called fact has been stated previously by RFB and it was immediately corrected.
The fledgling ALPB is still attempting to define its mission and goals - I would imagine that programming is indeed one of its goals, but certainly not the only one. The key is that it is international in scope, and not solely focused on the FCC and Part 15. It's original name was changed to reflect that.
I disagree with Carl (hey, I don't do it that often). I worry that having multiple groups dilutes the playing field, and message. This particular situation also reminds me of grade school, when someone who wants to be The Boss starts their own little group when they don't get what they want. And I think it's now apparent why the founder of the ALPB was attacked in the manner that he was (and not coincidentally, who his attackers were).
That being said, go for it if you want. I'll stick to the ALPB, thank you very much.
I'm pleased to hear that RFB had decided to pursue his idea for an organization to bird dog and effect regulatory changes. I think this can be beneficial when properly engaged as it is a double edged sword.
It simply was not part of the original concept of the ALPB and would be a slow growth process to embody.
First, the ALPB has to grow and what better way than by helping stations improve. This is the primary goal embodied in the ALPB concept. This will develop a reputation that will bring others into our membership.
Notice that Artisan Radio disagreed with me in a diplomatic way. That's how it should be done.
The other approach is to return to grade school and start an anti-cultural gang on the other side of the fence.
Yet, in a perverse way, it all bolsters the cause of part 15 radio broadcasting.
We are entering the Twilight Zone.
