Reading an article on 'The Hill' this morning asking whether the new FCC Chair Brendon Carr would act on President Elect Trump's call to pull licenses from CBS and ABC for being unfair to him...
This raises the question: do radio or TV networks have FCC licenses?
Isn't there something currently going on concerning part 15 analog TV band frequencies? Something about the FCC opening up those now unused frequencies for part 15 use. I recall seeing something about it within the last 6 months.. I not sure if I mentioned somewhere, but it did catch my attention.

I would certainly think so. - Probably not broadcast licences, but some kind of licensing would be required.
@richpowers Of course any radio or TV stations owned by the networks would require licensing, but the networks themselves do not transmit on the air. They only supply programming. Tim in Bovey doesn't need a license to distribute the polka show. I didn't need a license to offer The Low Power Hour. Artisan Radio doesn't need a license to supply 'Teenage Dreams'.
@richpowers you say
Probably not broadcast licences, but some kind of licensing would be required.
But we are specifically talking about FCC licenses. If Trump took away their music licenses it wouldn't stop them from 'disrespecting' him.
@carl-blare I did say Probably not broadcast licences.
The media is a.. its crap.
@richpowers Flush twice. It's a long way to the White House.
The forum is busy tonight. As soon as I reply in one topic, another topic pops up.. Its like whack a mole.
