Every so often an issue comes up that is so important and so defining, that it transcends the mere term 'on-topic'.
I'm referring to the imprisonment (detainment is too sanitizing) of children at the U.S. border, of course. Over 2,000 in the past several months, ripped away from their families, many being housed in metal cages. Audio recordings have been released (I don't think I'd play these on my radio station, they're too heart rending) of some screaming and crying for their parents, while being mocked by border guards.
Make no mistake about it - while Trump blames the Democrats, this is purely on Trump & his sycophants. As early as February 2017, shortly after his inauguration, these actions showed up on a list of what could be done at the borders to discourage immigration. Using children as pawns!
There is no law in place, forcing the imprisonment of children. Again, that is a lie. It's purely a policy decision, and it's only being done so that this administration can further it's own ambitions. Laws, empathy and human decency be damned.
All this makes me wonder if we've learned anything since Hitler & WWII, when the entire world went to war to stop similar actions.
The good news is that there is a groundswell of opposition against this practice starting to grow. The bad news is that there are still some that support it. As one twitter user tweeted out "The lack of empathy from so many of Trumps supporters is pretty disgusting. I never realized how many sociopaths we had living amongst us."
All world leaders need to speak out against these crimes. And the people of the U.S. need to rise up and let the President and his followers know that they don't have a blank cheque to do whatever they want.
You Have My Respect
Small membership organizations have a moral and ethical responsibility to take a position when governments turn to large scale crime against humanity as described in the foregoing presentation by Artisan Radio.
A numbed silence by the population is mainly why things were able to get so bad during Hitler, as mentioned.
3-meter antennas are well and good, but we owe something to our fellow citizens besides rock music.
Yup, this is what North Korea is showing their people about "the good old USA"
Is that where you want to go?
And they accuse them of human right violations!
I will repost what I posted at the ALPB about what is legal in the USA right now!
This discrimination is alive and LEGAL in the USA. A person can hang a sign in a store window, no gays, no liberals, and why not no Jews either if it's "against his beliefs"
Suppose you are questioned at the door.....I thought this was abolished in the middle of last century!!
This is Trump's America. And now he's spending billions on a new plan to have another branch of the military....up in space to bombard countries now from above, while cutting social security saying they are causing the trillions in debt. They will do this(army in space) but have no health care to look after their own people.

My initial post was not meant to be a political diatribe. Rather, it was an anguished cry for justice for the innocent children that were being separated from their familes, and imprisoned by morally bankrupt individuals, who were using them as pawns in THEIR political games.
It was obviously just a tiny drop in the bucket compared to the absolute flood of negative press and opinion that washed over the world regarding this practice, and it appears that the flood has accomplished something; Trump & his administration have reportedly backtracked, and will no longer use children to achieve their goals. It remains to be seen if it actually happens.
But in the meantime, we (at least those who have any empathy at all) can take solace that you CAN change things with a concerted effort. It makes me a little more hopeful for the future.
When Colleagues Do the Heroic
Artisan Radio did more than post a very necessary message about an unfolding situation that our stations should be reporting about, he took a risk as a moderator-trustee of this website. He is to be highly commended.
It took the maltreatment of helpless children to bring this to the surface, but think also of the parents whose children were forcefully taken away. Many of our radio friends are parents, perhaps you've lost a child to circumstances. It is the worst thing in the world.
I hope the administrators of these websites are able to evolve enough to realize that radio doesn't exist in a vacuum. We share a world, and we should acknowledge it.
I should have posted my reaction to legal discrimination in a retail store in the USA in part 15 engineer's forum but I wanted more than me and him to see it.
As for part 15 engineer's facebook page you should know that you and me think alike about everything you post.
