Problem can be solved by giving general users AM with up to 10 Watts (In areas where there is empty AM frequencies.

More and More there has been proof how valuable Radio ran by citizens can be.  AM is not plub and play like FM so I feel it will discourage troublemakers in that itself.  Most who run an AM unlicensed station have fewer issues with harmful interference because a  AM setup is 400% harder and more expensive than an FM transmitter is.

Fewer NOUO's have been issued to AM operators because of no complaints of harmful interference from most of the AM operators.  Standing up for General User Radio Licenses by rule is really the way to go.  And we're seeing commercial AM broadcasters vacating AM.  This could be good for us.  I say stay tuned and stay with a sharp eye on this.

Comment: I don't think there's that many stations vacating the AM band, at least not in my neck of the woods. More translators yes. A real irritant locally is an AM station owned by another station 50 miles away. Nothing on our little station is local, just a re-hash of advertisers 50 miles away. Now they have a FM translator running at 250 watts ERP. Sheesh...
