So in 1884, representatives from 25 countries finally decided on where the universal Prime Meridian should be. You can read about it in the link above, but what I found interesting is what it is that marks the spot..
Null Island.
I've never been there, but anyone is welcome to go, have some 2 for 1 Margaritas, it's a low crime area with no government oversights, free rent and no property taxes at all, primarily because Null Island doesn't consist of any land. In fact the whole island is a fabrication - as in an imaginary place (also explained in the article). But it's coordinates is what's of significance, and those are real.
So what is at the zero zero coordinate on earth? This so named Null Island?
