Wiktionary is not able to help if we do not know how to spell a word we want to use but do not already know how to spell it.
Example... This is the closest I could guess of a particular word, per a 'best guess': "paradolia".
So, I asked ChatGPT, which quickly had the answer: pareidolia, which, interestingly, the part15org spell-check thinks is incorrect.
During a conversation with a friend, he reacted to something I said by saying, "You could write a book!" Well, the fact is I will never write an autobiography, however I do plan to write a book titled "Why I Will Never Write an Autobiography".
I had to look Pareidolia up. Now I'm curious why you sought out the correct spelling of it. Although I do see exactly what your point is, but I'm afraid it might just be my pareidolia
@richardpowers You asked exactly the right question, Rich. My second next book will be 'The Science of Pareidolia'. In its pages I intend to invent a whole new superstition, of you will. A true belief on the images our brain sees in random patterns. While being somewhat tongue in cheek, another serious point I plan to make in the book is that our minds are prone toward false beliefs in general.
