I thought it had been closer to 1942, but all I know for sure is that at the time the general consensus was TV was considered nothing more than a passing fad. Even in places where a signal could be received the moving pictures was so heavily snowy that you could barely tell what was on the screen.
I agree that it was sooner that TV had become on the market for homes. That one I pictured said 1945 but but may have not been accurate. It could have been that particular company with the first one for your home. The development of TV started in the late 1920s but wasn't till the second world war's end that RCA started mass production of TV's.
