Got an interesting e-mail from a reader of this blogsite, who asked about mods I wrote about to a Radio Shack $40 audio mixer. Our exchange ended up talking in depth about microphone matching, and during the recent thaw, while chopping ice, I became inspired to improve the matching of my wireless mic.

I forgot to mention I listened to this show a couple of nights ago while I was fiddling with my studio.. My attention span of it drifted in and out as I was pondering the task at hand at the same time, but I heard you tell another dirty joke -Nope, just kidding… Any way, your talking about how even little trash mics can sound good was interesting, but somehow I missed you saying which mic you were actually using.
I missed a lot of stuff actually! but heard the whole thing.
I thought it was pretty cool that you worked on The Price it Right show, and was amused about your re-creation of Bob Barkers tall Shure mic.
Enjoyed the show, but you drift around a bit, (I think that’s somehow oddly a part of why I enjoy listening to them), I heard some interesting things, but while I thought I would come away from it with some added insight of microphones.. when it was over, I was kind of at a blank! – I’m not sure what it was all about! But I liked it, I just don’t know what it was.. I guess it will warrant a second listening for me at another time.
