Projects Status Report

January 7, 2012 by Carl Blare

Many good projects get shared here on this site. Here is a Status Report on some of those projects.

Many good projects get shared here on this site. Here is a Status Report on some of those projects.

The Big Talker shortwave transmitter was designed by contributing members of part15.us and the prototype has been running daily on 13.560mHz and is available to build at this link
http://www.kdxradio.com/bigtalker.html
There is a design feature I would like to add to Big Talker, but will need input from the “better schooled,” so please watch for a post about that, coming soon;

The Deep Voice long wave transmitter is in first draft, parts being ordered, building of a prototype soon to commence. The link is here
http://www.kdxradio.com/deepvoice.html
There is a Version 2.0.0, but the site needs to be updated;

Since I am trying to find a way to start with Carrier Current, I have an idea for a special linear amplifier designed to work with AMT5000 or AMT3000 to add the needed power increase and variability for driving 50-ohms into a CC Coupler. The name of this project, if it goes forward, will be “Back End.”

All of these projects comply with FCC part 15.

    Necessary Notations
    “All of these projects comply with FCC part 15.”

    Curious….but why make that statement? Sending a message to those regular monitors so they don’t fill your inbox or letters in the mailbox?

    Well for kicks and giggles I am building a 500 watt linear for my LW TX and intend to test it periodically as the amp is built…just cause I can.

    And THAT amp is NOT Part 15 compliant. But who says it will be used for broadcasting..I just stated its a test amp, so no confusion by anyone here or over there on the hill or sitting all alone in basement apartments should be reason to fill my inbox or mailbox with stuff that ends up in File 13.

      Over Our Shoulder
      You are right RFB, that I was “looking over my shoulder” when I added the line about being “part 15 compliant.”

      A lot of the recent talk about cloaks and daggers in part-15-ville have made me want to be sure no maniacs rush to a wrong conclusion about my intentions.

      We will comply,
      it ain’t no lie.

      Darn Right!
      Thanks RBF, i’m glad i am not the only feeling those sentiments. Test away, how else are new technologies going to come to light if no one takes the time to test their ideas?

          Project Status 2014

          As said in the opening post of this thread, there are many Part 15 Projects opened and awaiting further development and many past threads that need to be “rediscovered.”

          Therefore I have opened a single ongoing thread called “The World of Worldround Radio,” as a venture of the Association for Low Power Broadcasters in association with part15.us, as a central link point for all the projects.
