Political Fasting or Internship

August 20, 2012 by jpjanze

I say if a politician wants to run for office then they should be required to fast before being allowed to be nominated and they should have to prove and document they did.

I say if a politician wants to run for office then they should be required to fast before being allowed to be nominated and they should have to prove and document they did.

they should be required to not have access to their plush medical and other benefits for 6 months and should be required to live off of the income the average american does, pay the same bills the average american does, should…be required to volunteer somewhere and have to take a bus to that job, rent an average fair market value apartment and just basically be required to live the average joe citizen life for six months.

maybe split those months between living like the average middle class and then living as the average poor and/or disabled person being required to live under the same conditions.

this should be a requirement for anyone wishing to hold a high level public office.

this i believe would go a long way to putting politicians in touch with the average citizen rather than being sheltered from the realities of real life by their money and position.

call it the internship before getting the job.

then maybe these politicians will learn the real people and faces behind the statistical numbers and take that into considering when evaluating any kind of legislation.

just maybe this would give them pause before passing legislation giving those already well off even more at the expense of those who struggle just to make it.

    A Plan Worth Trying
the kc8gpd plan for trying to instill compassion and empathy into baby-faced, pampered, haughty-pants aspiring politicians is worth trying.

Unemployed homelessness without a dime would make a good six-month training requirement.

    Real Deal
How about finding the hidden law that says only filthy rich lawyers can run for office and not common folks.

An internship? Fasting? This is supposed to turn crooks into angels?

I hate to burst the virtual reality bubble but none of that would matter even if they did fake fasting for you on the tv, because that is about all you will get..a fake fasting tv special during prime time just before the new seasons of shows begin..lure them in for the big day.

    The problem lies elsewhere.

      Some of Them
Some of them should be held to the ground and given hair cuts.

Some of them should be strapped to the top of a car and driven cross country.

Some of them should be invited to a wedding party in the sights of an incoming drone.

Some of them should be subjected to a hurricane then forced into a stadium without provisions.

Some of them should be placed in an earthquake and kept from receiving aide due to “roadblocks”.

Some of them should be kept in solitary confinement for 25 years.

Some of them should be waterboarded.

Some of them should be forced to live in tents in the Arizona desert wearing pink panties.

Some of them should be drafted into a war zone for ten years then refused housing or health services back home.

100% based on their own way of treating people.

        Most of them
Most of them shouldn’t even be in office to begin with! Would solve over half the problem right off if those bozo’s weren’t in there.
