My Apologies

January 2, 2013 by rock95seven

My apologies to the group. The opinion i shared in a thread is one i should have kept to myself. I just felt the need to voice my personal feelings in the forum but later after reflecting on my comment it reminded me of my old CB Radio days when a CB Rambo would run 1000 Watts keying over people, being a real nuisance to good radio operators. Eventually i learned to change the channel and ignore those CB Rambos. This is what i will do again but not a 2 way radio but rather online. If i don’t like what i read or hear, i can always change the station or just ignore things i don’t agree with.

On a less serious note, have a great 2013 everyone.

No Need to QRT (Quit) from Part15us, Barry
Rather, just ignore the posts there with which you disagree.

OTOH, if you have valid reasons to disagree, then probably others (including me) would like to read your views.

But in any case — hope you and everyone else will have a great 2013.

Can’t We All Just Get Along…
This is a fun place, this is a great place. It’s where I can share my life long radio experiences and learn new things. And, maybe help someone.

I’ve had my buttons pushed a few times. But you know what, I’m not gonna let someone spoil my fun. I’ll stay right here in spite of petty disagreements because we all have opinions.

Momma always said “if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing” so you’ll notice I don’t say a lot.

I won’t QRT over QRM, rather I’ll send out QRRR and see who my friends are.

        Still and All
But you know what, I think disagreements can be very scholarly and take place with polite words while the guns stay in their holsters.

There have been things I don’t agree with and I would post a laundry list now if I could remember any of it

Mostly, I don’t think we should ever slam the door on the way out and should not issue final good byes.

We are aboard the great ship earth spinning all over space and must place radio above it all.

          Thanks for the encouragement,but
i am not going to quit. I find the older i get the less i can tolerate negativity from people. While i am working on this from a personal stand point the process is slow going. I will admit, some comments made gave me the impression that members assumed others were operating beyond the scope of part 15 rules and i may have taken those comments a bit too personally. My FM is a flea powered 200 foot blow torch for ant’s and other ground burrowing insects to tune into with their fancy antennae. lol I have scaled back a lot and in the process lost a lot of coverage. My signal was 1/4 mile in a weird figure 8 pattern and now with the indoor inverted v on the wall the signal covers 30 mobile homes out of 100+. That 1/4 mile coverage was with 1 miliwatt from a Ramsey FM 25B connected to a folded dipole. Why did i scale back? Because i didn’t want to invite the fcc to my door step. So maybe i was operating beyond the part 15 limit’s but then again in the past 6 years of being on the air i have yet to have anyone complain or so much as a knock or letter from the fcc. Anyway, i am not going to quit Part 15.us but i will exercise more restraint in the future.
