Important Program Change Notification
Very much to my surprise, while getting set to complete the 3rd hour of LPH#67 I discovered a remainder of 1-hour 45-minutes still to go in our ALPB Meeting of Nov. 16, 2012.
What this means is an added 4th hour!
Therefore the 3-hour Special Event is a 4-hour Special Event.
All Meeting, All the Time.
If this was a job I’d complain, but it’s a hobby and I love it.

Carl, I find it peculiar, and am missing the whole point of taking a poll each meeting on whether or not to broadcast the broadcasters!
Why would a broadcaster ever prefer not to be broadcast?
The only perceivable circumstances I could phantom would be if someone desired to “lay low” and stay out of the radar, as not to attract any attention outside of their own particular stations receivable area.
And if that was the case, then they probably wouldn’t want to appear on any member list, or participate on any forums either.
Under what circumstance would holding any meetings behind closed doors jive with “..improve(ment) radio broadcasting, bringing radio back to the people.”?

— By the way, to explain myself; I know that I’ve expressed several opinions besides this one concerning the ALPB since its inception, yet have not so much as even attended a meeting.. which can make it appear I’m trying to sit outside, and just stick my nose where it don’t belong.
But that’s really not the case. I do plan to begin participating, there are reasons it hasn’t happened yet. Initially it was primarily due to scheduling, there was just no way of joining in on any weekend due to the responsibilities of work. Now that its winter, the weekends are opening up for me, so joining in on Friday meetings have become feasible to attend, which I will do soon enough!
That’s it! I just wanted to explain the “why” of my opinions concerning the ALPB, and my non attendance.

Good Points
Speaking only for myself I thinks it’s totally all right for members of part15.us to comment on what they read or hear about the ALPB.
By comparison, in the world in general, it is fair to comment about political affairs without being a politician.
Although some have voiced the point of view that critics should either join the ALPB or remain silent, I disagree with such an exclusionary approach.
I do not believe anyone needs to publish their reasons for not joining the ALPB. By now we have found that there are many reasons for not joining, and it would be my hope that the members of ALPB can fairly represent those who are unable to join.
As for my courtesy toward theoretical members who wish not to be broadcast, I have in mind the fact that not all broadcasters are of the talent variety, some may be from the engineering side or not comfortable with speaking in public. Perhaps more serious is a concern about statutory laws regarding the recording of persons without permission. Taking the little poll to secure broadcast permission is a safe-guard which will continue until we find a better way to resolve the broadcast question.

A simple clause written in, stating that all ALPB meetings are recorded, archived, and available for future review and/or broadcast.

I am guessing that the 404 Error came up when you tried the link in the posting just before yours?
I am not sure what you mean by “Part IV link…”
I just went through all the pages related to the LPH download section, and they all load properly.
Try resetting and if trouble persists let me know what you find.
LIGHT GOES ON IN HEAD: I’ll bet you meant that “Part 4” of the LPH audiofile wouldn’t load. I’ll go look.

Thanks MRAM 1500 for the trouble report, which resulted in finding the usual titling error in the audiofile, a continual mistake for me.
Computer titles are so unforgiving. By now computers should be smart enough to spot the mistakes made by humans and just nicely correct them.
