Late But Better
On December 22 the sun began a new orbit around the sun. In terms of astronomical reality, that was the beginning of the new year.
Now, ten days later, we have ten minutes more daylight.
So your new year wishes are arriving late, but then again, there is the calendar error which relates to a dark winter night of altar wine in the catacombs of a monastary when they drafted the calendar by candle light.

Those Wacky Mayans
The Mayan Calendar is purported to signify the end of the world on the Winter Solstice of 2012. Well, then why are the Mayans already extinct?
I guess they didn’t know that Europeans were on the way to shoot them.
HOWEVER, if you count my theory that the earth orbit is a spinball as in baseball, spinballs only zip around in a circular orbit a few times, then they fly straight off into the far distance.
May,uh,take, that’s short of Mayan take, is that on the Winter Solstice of 2012 the earth will NOT make the usual u-turn, but will keep going deeper and deeper into space.
Nights will keep getting longer, days shorter, temperatures cooler, and we will become confused ice popsickles with no AM or FM or TV or cell phone. Stock up on winter clothing. It could mean an extra day.
Biggest Mistake
The most biggest mistake everyone makes is the Mayans predicted the future..specifically the end of the world.
The Mayans did not predict anything as a matter of fact. They could accurately plot a date, future or past. But predict the future…Earth’s or their own….there is no evidence suggesting they could see into the future at all. That comes from somewhere else.
The Mayans simply had 3 separate calendars, one to which everyone links the end of the world to is the “Long Count”.
According to the long count, it will not end for another 3 thousand years.
What is ironic is the mainstream fell hook line and sinker for it.and ran with it and even participated in it by playing the nay say role…as they always do.
But as to the world ending…eventually it will..but not this new year…or the next…or for a very, very long time thereafter…unless we blow it up first.

I have always loved crows for their clever personalities and their neat style.
I had a pet crow and yes they have great personalities.
In the 90s the crow population in this area was very great, but then they were all gone. Now, ten years later, they are making a bold comeback.
