Heard on Part 15 Radio
Amy Goodman’s guest on Democracy Now, heard on part 15 station KDX, was discussing that very point.
He said the “47%” is an “anamoly”, in that it’s not a fixed number. It’s a number that is always changing with economic circumstances, a fact Romy seems not to know.
More interesting, the Republicans previously pushed and got passed a bill which gives per child tax credits to people with limited incomes, who are also part of this 47%, and so Romy was speaking against a position taken by his own party.
He doesn’t have much knowledge in his head, but his haircut is not too bad.
One thing he doesn’t know is when to hush up.
Examination
Anyone paying ANY attention to either of the bozos needs to go get a reality check. Your better off giving attention to a good sci-fi flick or reading a good book.
Don’t expect anything but worse to come out of this round of circus acts.
That 47 percent consists of more people than some countries populations.
That 47 percent could form their own country.
That 47 percent is a threat to the status quo.
That 47 percent drops off the quarterly list of unemployment figures.
That 47 percent was declared an anomaly 4 years ago.

It’s Fine, Now
Somebody must have explained to the candidate why his remarks were stupid, because he has modified them as any good revisionist historian would:
He now says that what he meant was that he wants to help the people get back to work so they can pay taxes.
He said, “People want to pay taxes”.
We All Know
that in this election, we are in a lurch.
Neither candidate is suited for the job.
But what many people may not know, is that that isn’t what it’s all about.
You could elect a pet to the figurehead official position, and all would remain as before.
There are forces behind the scenes who call the shots.
Unelected forces.

well they bash people like me
well they bash people like me as public moochers taking from the makers but i can guarantee you not one of them knows what it’s like to have a serious mental illness, learning disability or physical disability.
and ada not withstanding the outright discrimination and stereotyping that comes along with it.
i don’t know how the republicans and conservatives can say that we are resting in a hammock living a lavish lifestyle off of 700/mo.
i’d rather be able to work and bring home 2000-3000/m0 plus benefits than live off of 700/mo.
I suffer Schizo affective disorder, attention deficit disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, and diabetes but to him we are all leeches benefiting from his hard work.
i’d love to not have all that and be able to hold down employment and pay taxes, but the realities are i was given many of these illnesses at birth and the others from my child hood environment so for me it’s not just as easy as going back to work like romney thinks it is.
i have a friend who is a die hard republican who is on social security and medicare who was going to vote for romney till his 47% comment now he is not voting for either candidate.
One Step Away
Even those of us working regular 40 hour a week jobs are one layoff or serious illness away from becoming a member of the “47%”.
Back in 2000, I was laid off from a very good R&D job due to the company being moved to Mexico. If not for unemployment we most likely would have lost our home. It took 4 years to find a comparable job, and last year my salary finally reached my year 2000 pre-layoff rate.

i ask these conservatives to think what the country would be like today with the crashed economy in as far as poverty and crime without entitlements.
i am a non custodial parent of two under age children so if romney yanked my disability not only would i not be able to find a job due my my criminal (dating from about 93-2000) and social history (mental health and petty criminal dating back to kindergarten) i would be responsible for imputed child support based on what a judge thinks i am capable of earning.
since i wouldn’t be able to get a job (no HR department will consider hiring me) due to my status i would probably wind up in a mental institution due to an inability to get my meds and therapy and then after i am stabilized and released form the mental institution the sheriff will be waiting to take me to jail to serve my sentence for felony non support then after i get out of jail the cycle will repeat itself.
it’s likely that one of the criminal acts committed in about 97 (was knocked down from felony to misdemeanor) has me not only on FBI/DHS watch lists but likely the no fly list as well.
i am positive that the majority on disability are in the same position. it would be irresponsible (and a total social nightmare) for any politician republican or democrat to start pulling people off of ssi / ssdi and yanking their medical benefits.
society would drown in total social chaos.
there is a reason entitlements were created at the height of the great depression.
these candidates need to learn their history of what happened back then because they attempting to recreate it through irresponsible policies.
the real reason we are in the way we are is outsourcing of jobs and the banking industry crooked dealing to which they were rewarded with bailouts.
