KDX Worldround Radio is off the air right now because the control desk computer can't bring up the server computer on the local network. It's easier to come on here to the forum and complain about it than it is to spend the morning trying to repair the thing. It also means that our website is down because both the Icecast server and web server come from the same place. As the main and usually sole listener I am upset because I want to hear my programs. Without KDX I'm forced to go elsewhere, although going elsewhere can be interesting sometimes. Keep the coffee coming and I'll get this baby started.
Plan B. I think I'll have my banana and scroll through some directories to find what other stations are doing.
Call a halt.
That's fine. I just blew an hour messing with stream directories and news scrolls. I heard Alex Jones talk about how the U.S. now has the means of declaring a pre-emptive nuclear war anywhere in the world. Despite Mr. Jones recent bad publicity I have always enjoyed him as one of the die-hard personalities that gets his microphone connected everywhere from shortwave to internet and keeps the show going. And I found an internet station that specializes in Sci-Fi OTR, and I'll share it with you:
http://s1.voscast.com:8652/stream
On the two directories I visited the search for 'talk' or 'news' brings up music stations because many of the streamers lie and claim to provide every possible kind of programming as a way of getting listed in every category.
Along the way I learned that WNYC AM 820 NYC is seeking FCC authority to go all digital to observe how well it performs amid the tall building canyons of the City.
Hey you, bring me a coffee.
That didn't take long. Turns out the remote computer wasn't turned on, although I remember turning it on. And last night I remember turning it off. You'd think an old person with diminishing cognition was running a small radio station so that he could listen to it. But that would be far fetched.
