Hello, this is Carl Blare, awake at his desk after dozing off a few times. It looks wet and rainy outside, which makes a good excuse for avoiding yardwork. Which reminds me of KDX-AM, now off the air because of trouble with the studio-to-transmitter link, but it isn't a priority because KDX-AM is no longer the main source for outdoor radio listening since I now use the cellphone as a pocket radio and can hear KDX anywhere on earth, even though my yard is only a few hundred square-feet.
There's indoor work to do, such as preparing for the new Sunday schedule, nominally being called 'Fun Day' consisting of programs that ignore the serious world issues on the other six days. We'll have several radio oriented shows including Glenn Hauser's 'World of Radio', 'This Week of Radio Tech', and Michael Harrison's Interview which invites leading talk personalities in conversation. We have 'Lord Litter's Magic Music Box' a hosted music program from KOWS Radio comprised of goofy, silly, nonsensical songs. And there's 'Topper's' from Radio Free Boston in which R. Hucek hosts music 'at the top of the charts' while attempting other chores, such as filing his income tax on time while Windows keeps restarting his computer. And we just inked a deal for an ambient music show that will drop via 'Drop Box'.
Some people do more important things like walking the dog or pretending to care about their kid's softball game, but I'm sticking to programming a radio station for our one listener, which of course is me, during the times when I manage to be awake.
Are you still here? People usually walk away before I say everything.
