Congrats. This transmitter has excellent audio as you probably just discovered.
I agree they sound excellent, and the built in proccessing is a nice convenience you don't get with some of the more premium priced transmitters
The signal is sharp and I am impressed so far with how good it sounds. I'm taking an audio source and patching it right into the RCA jacks on the transmitter.
The AMT 3000 is performing as intended.
David, that is one quality little unit. The potential it has...Ya know, I'm tempted to gamble on ordering a 5000. Too bad Phil B won't come on any more. After the treatment he got here...I understand.
Still, the AMT units are a cut above...

You may wish to take the route I did and buy it assembled from Pat at ontheair3.com. I believe it was only $100 more and he did a great job. Now that said, it did take me 60 days to get it. I know other folks who waited longer than that to get the kit from SSTRAN and told me they received no updates, no replies to voicemails and emails. In my case, I received regular updates from Pat. He confirmed reception of my order, that he had it in stock, but he had 5 other kits to build ahead of me. Then he let me know when he came down with the flu and even had to be hospitalized briefly. He was professional in every possible way and vbery apologetic about my wait. BTW I asked him if he knew what was going on with SSTRAN and he said he did not, but speculated that SSTRAN mighjt be inundated with orders since Ramsey stopped selling their transmityter kits.

That is not a correct statement.
PhilB has always been warmly welcome here at part15_us and there was never anything other than complete accord.
Unfortunately Bill and Ermi took against Phil at their website (HB) and continued personal attacks and maligned the products and even manuals for months on end without ever openly justifying their ugly treatment.
The matter cannot fade away if it becomes re-ignited by false recollections.
I agree completely with your sentiments. Hopefully SSTRAN will hire a couiple folks to source their parts and a couple more to expedite shipment!
You are correct Carl! Apologies. Yes, Phil, Keith, and any other manufacturers are warmly welcome here! The hobby can only be bettered by their insight! Thanks!

"{Too bad Phil B won't come on any more. After the treatment he got here...I understand. "
As a relative newbie I guess I'd like to know what happenened to him.
I almost don't wan't to say anything.. Yes, Bill took issue with Phil and apparently has always had negivity to Phil (from what I understand). However, I don't think Ermi (who was a also just as much of regular poster here at part15.us, but now he visits neither site in a long time).
All Ermi did was explained a plausable explination of why it didn't perform well in the test, which had to do with certain difficulties with tuning class E.
Ermi never badmouthed the Sstran5000 transmitter (not that I've ever seen) and even suggested that the SStran5000 could have equaled or exceeded the rangemaster in the test if a different tuning method and ground considerations had been done.
I don't have any links on hand but you can find Ermi's disccussions about the AMT5000 on both forums.. I don't recall him ever badmouthing it. If I'm wrong about what Ermi's stance had been, then I'm wrong, but I don't think so.
Ermi has always been a gentleman.
Where are they?
Where is PhilB?
What has become of Ermi Roos?
Who else is missing?
Is there a conspiracy to disappear part 15 people?
Be on guard and we must look out for each other!
