Jim, did you receive your SSTRAN? I ordered one about two months ago and haven't received it.

Maybe he's dead?
I doubt it. Old guy. But not dead I don't think...I got mine after waiting a long time.

Talking of part 15 am transmitters, i have recently bought 2 AM1000 rangemasters that are frequency agile models.
As i live in the UK, i have been trying to get a response from Keith Hamilton regarding agile modules for 9k spacings.
I have sent 3 emails previously, spread out over some months, and also sent a message through his his pcb website, still no joy !
The impression i am getting is he probably is only interested in the continental USA.
Frustrating to say the least!
Paul.
Ordered another AMT 3000 on November 5th 2016, and it arrived about five weeks later. I expected that it would take several weeks considering all of the comments I had read about late delivery, so I was willing to be patient. There were no parts missing, and everything was professionally packed just as before. it's a one man operation obviously, but it seems the rumors about Phil being either sick or dead just won't stop!
I am sure he can send you a programmable oscillator that supports 9 khz spacing.
The problem is, Phil B and company won't communicate with us! None of my emails or calls to Phil Bolyn have been acknowledged. I have not tried Keith Hamilton. What is it with these people?
Doug
Hamilton usually responds almost instantly, it's surprisising you hadn't heard back after 3 emails. I think I recall he sometimes is involved with a peace corps organization or something like that, so maybe he's away right now.
As for Phil, I don't know.
I could order a new crystal, from numerous suppiers, for the am1000 agile board that is 10% lower in frequency, this would make the pll do 9khz steps, but it would still be difficult to get the last 100khz top end of the band.
Another idea is to remove the whole tx board at fit my spare amt5000 board in the enclosure !
Paul.
I'd just convert it to take a crystal.
That's what i would do i i stuck to a single frequency.
Unfortunately i am looking at 3 or 4 possible frequencies, so the agile synth would be a better option.
Paul.
I can see that I wasn't the only one getting my order placed last year. I suppose my inquiry with SSTRAN about a couple replacement parts is going to take a while.
David, I'd go with the SpitFire while it's still on eBay. Built, tested and delivered. 6v6 is from the UK, and they are fantastic people! I think it's...like $97.
Doug

Well I tested the transmitter and it works on 1610 AM as intended. Very strong signal with the basic antenna.
